The ethos underpinning Karavan’s brand draws heavily from the rich heritage, meaning and symbolism associated with this ancient form of travel and transport.
Globally recognized, the old Persian word kārvān described a way to set up trade along the mountains, valleys, and deserts of the Silk Road - linking regions in Asia, The Middle East, Europe, and Africa. Convoys of people, especially merchants and pilgrims, worked together to ensure their safe passage through many hardships overland - along with their animals, cargo and prized possessions.
Fast-forward to today, and this approach to transport and travel now translates into something we describe as managing protected supply chains, ensuring product and service integrity on the way from producer to consumer. The story also fits perfectly with our areas of expertise and the industry sectors that we serve - not to mention our quest to connect the East and the West.
CEO Therese Puetz is very much a professional nomad who embodies a similar journey across cultures. She has lived and worked in Dubai for the past ten years; and took the decision to form Karavan Management Consulting having accumulated over twenty years of commercial international management experience - working for German, Swedish-American, and Emirati global market-leading corporations.
Therese’s previous industry engagements have been instrumental in delivering market-leading innovations in temperature-controlled logistics and airfreight; and place her within a small circle of global specialists. Karavan Management Consulting builds on this track record, focusing primarily on the Healthcare, Food, Hospitality, and Global Islamic Economy sectors.
We are providing specialist logistics advisory services including Cold Chain and Halal Logistics Management.
We support European companies in setting up their commercial operation in the Middle East - connecting minds and businesses across cultures.
